7:00a.m. or close to it Sunday morning Carter and I loaded in the Tahoe with my mom,my grandma,Kasey, Hope and Tyler. With everyone buckled in we were on the road to Emery county. We have a lot of family buried down that way so we headed down to visit a few graves and pay tribute to loved ones passed. Good times in the Tahoe that is for sure! We had to keep things wild with our vehicle filled to capacity. We stopped in Spanish Fork at McDonald's for some breakfast and Peggy ordered her favorite "McSkittle!" burrito, or so she thought it was called. We made it through the canyon playing: Country,State or City and then some lovely singing contributed by all. Driving into Elmo we were graced with some rather dead livestock and the winning comment of the whole trip goes to Tyler!!! We visited the Ferron cemetery where great-grandma Reva and her family are buried. Then a 15 minute drive to Orangeville where grandpa Curtis and his family are buried. A quick tailgate lunch prepared by grandma Peg felt like fine dining to all. Then....back to Elmo for a bit to visit and on the road again we go. Carter was such a trooper! He was so good the whole time. He was definitely wiped out when we got home and ready to hit the sack. All this is one day..... I know.

Yummy chicken salad!
I just wanted to let you all know that I found a really yummy recipe for chicken salad and thought I would share it with you. For those of you who don't like chicken salad.... enjoy the picture!
2 bags of Cole slaw with no dressing
1 bag shredded Colby and Monterey cheese
1/2 red onion very finely diced
1 can La Choy rice noodles
1 bottle bacon bits
6-8 breaded pieces of chicken(cooked, cooled and cubed)
Optional:
Mandarin oranges to taste
Broccoli to taste
Dressing: Mix together
2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup of vinegar
* I just bought the bag of Tyson breaded chicken breasts. Another thing I found is that it is best to prepare all ingredients and mix together and top with dressing right before serving.(otherwise it can get a little soggy)
*Note to all: This salad is a little pricey to make and I only said it was YUMMY not healthy but hey....it is a salad :)

Maybe he was a dog in his previous life???
When I saw my friend Mandy's picture of her little boy Zeke in the cage I remembered that I had this silly picture of Carter. He loves to play in Zoey's kennel and he always seems to find a way to trap Zoey in there with him. Poor Zoey she takes far too much abuse from our little maniac. He seems to be happy so whatever works!

Our Monday Outing!
So some of the girls have to decided to make Monday a "day out!" They were nice enough to invite Carter and I along for the fun. Our first trip out included park time fun. It was fun for the kids and even nicer for the moms. Carter took off as soon as we got there. Played and played and played oh and yes as most of you have heard, ate the bark. Hey we all could use a little a more fiber in our diets right? :) We had to cancel our Monday outing this week due to crappy weather so I look forward to next Monday.
The BIG 1st Birthday Bash!
So I have been somewhat of a slacker on my blog so I am just getting around to posting pictures from Carter's first birthday party. It was so much fun! All of our amazing family and friends came out to help our little man celebrate. It was great weather, great food and great company. Thank you all for your love and support.
Hangin out in the back yard with the party-goers. It is so much fun now that Carter can walk because he can hang out with the "big" kids.

A year of memories!
So as most of you know Carter is turning 1 tomorrow...wow where did the time go. I was sitting here waiting for Grey's Anatomy to start and figured I would post some of my favorite memories of our little guy.
Carter's very first baseball game. He is his cousin Tyler's #1 fan!!
When Carter was only a couple months old the 3 of us took a weekend trip to Park City. This was the first time that he slept through the night. Probably had something to do with the fact that he had his very own queen size bed with 800 thread count sheets that bed would make anyone "sleep like a baby!"
OHHHHH we had plenty of these moments over the past year!!!
Probably one of my all time favorite pictures. Playing in the leaves at grandpa and grandma's house.
